Banana Bread

Some foods simply need no gilding with either sauce or word.

Adapted from a recipe in Cooks Illustrated.

I love a good banana bread, this looks amazing!

  • s'kat:

While I agree with you, I’d certainly never turn down a banana bread with chocolate chunks.

  • Kevin:

Jenjen,The bananas were absolutely perfect, the epitome of ripeness.S’kat,Me neither, you can always pick the chunks out.

  • Maya Papaya:

Banana bread = <>YUM<>I also like it warmed with some cream cheese spread on.

I followed the Cook’s Illustrated “Baking Illustrated” Banana Bread Recipe leaving the walnuts out. It turned out horrible, the center was not cooked at all, the outside was burnt, I followed the recipe to the T as well as the baking pan. I don’t know what happened, I will NEVER use this recipe ever again, now I’m questioning the entire book. One highly disappointed owner of a worthless book.

  • Kevin:

    Anon,
I had that happen with a loaf of bannana bread once, but as you can see this one came out beautifully.
